The VAN VELSENMEER FOUNDATION was founded in Leicester, 1853. The basis for the construction of a modern laboratory was established by the huge financial resources of an anonymous donator - whose name unfortunately is unknown to this day, as well as the origin of the name 'Van Velsenmeer'.
